Overview

Located in the heart of Los Angeles, USC is one of the world’s leading private research universities, with over 18,000 undergraduate enrollment. USC Keck School of Medicine recently opened their Biosafey Level 3 Lab – a federal classification of a facility designed for the study of pathogenic and potentially lethal agents that can cause potentially severe or fatal illness due to exposure by inhalation.

Scope

Exante360 has been working with USC on tens of projects of all sizes for many years. Highlights include projects at various facilities under the Keck School of Medicine/Health Science Campus and academic campus:

Biosafety Lab 3
For the BSL-3 lab project, we provided security design and consulting services for the addition of two new electronic access control biometric card readers and a new Lenel head-end system to safeguard against unauthorized access to the facility and the possible escape of any biological materials from the lab.

Vivarium renovation – Hoffman Medical Research Center
Covering 7,500 square feet over eleven floors, Exante360 provided security design and consulting services for this renovation project. Security systems designed as part of the renovation include access control with biometric readers, video surveillance, and intrusion and duress alarms. The design phase will be completed in 2019.

Raulston Memorial Research (RMR) Building
As part of the A&E team, Exante360 provided security system design services for the RMR building project. Construction drawings and specifications were created through coordination with the project design team and in accordance with USC’s standards.
