LA County Harbor – UCLA Medical Center
In operation since 1946, the 72-acre Los Angeles County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center campus in Carson, CA is populated by an 8-story, 553-bed hospital, a complex of buildings, World War II army-style barracks, and trailers, totaling approximately one million square feet of building space.
As part of a $2 billion master plan to transform the medical center into a state of the art campus, this project encompasses just about every discipline that Exante360 specializes in – security, wired and wireless local area networks, outside plant cabling, emergency responder radio coverage, and healthcare communications systems. Exante360 is responsible for the design of these systems that need to integrate and expand upon technology currently deployed throughout the medical center campus, while keeping the network and all systems up and running throughout the demolition and construction of buildings and subsurface utilities. The campus will be transformed to include a new inpatient tower, outpatient and support buildings, a parking structure, auxiliary buildings, and open spaces. The project is expected to be completed in time for the 2028 Summer Olympics hosted by L.A., as the hospital will be used to serve Olympic athletes. A dedicated team of Exante360 project managers, subject matter experts, designers, and BIM coordinators have been vital in the successful, on-time completion of project deliverables.
