With over 37,000 students, the California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is the third largest campus of the 23-school CSU system. CSULB has several new construction and renovation plans as part of a master plan to improve the campus.
Parkside North Housing
The new $102 million student housing building, in the shape of the numeral eight, will consist of four levels encompassing two outdoor courtyards. Exante360 is providing design and consulting services for the access control, video surveillance, and intrusion alarm systems. The video surveillance system will include fixed directional, 270°, and 360° cameras and local NVRs. The electronic access control will utilize Power-over-Ethernet door locks accessed by credentials that tie into the “one card” platform students and faculty use campus wide. In addition to the security systems, the team is working in conjunction with CSULB IT to provide the network design to support the additional data and voice network traffic. The new dormitory is scheduled to be completed in May 2021.
The Horn Center provides technological resources such as wifi, computing, and printing services for students. Exante360 is providing security design and consulting services for the Horn Center renovation project. Systems include access control, video surveillance, and intrusion alarm. Exante360 will be involved with the project through commissioning and closeout.
University Art Museum
As part of the largest publicly funded art school west of the Mississippi, the Kleefeld Contemporary Art Museum creates exhibitions and programs that provide space for critical interpretation of contemporary and modern art and culture. The museum is undergoing a renovation and Exante360 is providing the security systems design. Systems include access control, video surveillance, and intrusion alarm. Exante360 will be involved with the project through commissioning and closeout.
